Origin

It started the way most great things do — casually, without a plan. A few of us were showing up every day, playing hard tennis cricket on turf. It was consistent, competitive, and unexpectedly addictive.

Then one day, someone said, “Let’s try leather ball.” It sounded intense. Maybe even unnecessary. But it felt right.

We created a new WhatsApp group. Gave it a name that felt half-joke, half-truth: Unfit 11. Some found it hilarious. Others didn’t take it seriously. Many laughed. A few mocked.

But behind the sarcasm was a real idea — a space for people like us to play. Every day. Not pros. Not part of any elite setup. Just regular players with irregular lives and limited opportunities.

Unfit 11 was built for the misfits — The too-busy, too-rusty, too-overlooked ones who never made the cut elsewhere. But who still showed up. Still wanted to play. Still wanted to stay fit.

It became our platform. Our playground. A reason to lace up. A place to belong.

Journey So Far

10 Oct 2024 – Unfit 11 was born
9 Nov 2024 – Played our first-ever match
With no kits, borrowed gear, and pure grit
Fast forward — today, every player has their own kit
We’ve built a common stock of kits, balls, and drill equipment
11 Apr 2025 – Played at SPJ, one of the finest stadiums in Lonavala
11 Apr 2025 – Clinched our first victory
27 Apr 2025 – Backed it up with a second win
May 2025 – Scheduled for our first Test match: 90 overs/day starting 18th
Climbed up to table toppers for match count in Dombivli
Unfit 11 is now a recognizable name in local circles, buzzing on social media
We’ve got our first sponsor. More are on the way
Families are now a part of this too — cheering, proud, and fully onboard
